Does the drowning detection system work even if the cameras are covered by bathers?
Yes, each pool is equipped with multiple cameras that simultaneously shoot the same areas. This coverage redundancy allows you to detect drowning even in the presence of one or more obstructed chambers.

Is the system able to guarantee the coverage of the entire pool?
Yes, thanks to the design service provided by AngelEye engineers, an adequate number of cameras guarantees 100% coverage of the pool.

How is the management of false alarms caused by disturbances?
The innovative artificial intelligence technology developed by AngelEye recognizes false alarms caused by lights, shadows and objects and suppresses them without notifying them to staff.
Staff members are notified of drowning and highly critical situations.

Does the system also work on outdoor pools in winter with the presence of water vapor?
Yes, the presence of underwater cameras is the only way to ensure visibility that is not possibleoutside the water.

How important is alarm discretion?
AngelEye system alarms are discreetly notified to security personnel with smartwatches and other technologies. This is to ensure immediate intervention and not to create panic to other swimmers with the risk of increasing the seriousness of the situation.

How long does the system take to detect a water accident?
The system takes a maximum of 10 seconds to detect and report an accident in the water, much faster than required by the current ISO standards which require detection within a maximum of 15 seconds.

What types of pools can AngelEye be installed on?
The implementation of AngelEye systems is applicable to all types of public and private swimming pools in concrete, steel and other construction variants. In addition, it adapts perfectly to various water attractions such as those with movable bottom and walls. To ensure the perfect integration with your pool, AngelEye has developed niches and cameras in collaboration with the major pool manufacturers in the world to preserve the manufacturer’s warranty.

Can AngelEye be installed on existing or new pools?
Yes, the installation of AngelEye can take place on both existing and new pools.

Is the system compatible with existing lighting?
The pre-existing lighting in the pool does not affect the functionality of the drowning detection system.
If no lighting is present, underwater cameras can optionally integrate a patented LED light system.

In case of installation on existing pools, do they need to be drained?
No, they do not. The AngelEye system can also be installed without emptying the pool. AngelEye engineers evaluate for each new project the feasibility of installation without emptying the pool.

Is it possible to install the system on a single pool and then extend it to the remaining pools?
Yes, the AngelEye system is modular and can be installed on a single pool to then be subsequently extended to other pools or with additional components.

What is the installation time for the AngelEye system?
The installation of the AngelEye system in new buildings adapts to the scheduling of the design phases. Installations in existing pools requires some activities that will not affect the operation of the pool, while the installation of cameras in the pool takes on average 5 working days. The replacement of underwater lights with AngelEye underwater cameras requires a few hours overall and this activity can also be carried out at night in order not to affect daily operations and opening hours of the facility.

Is it necessary to empty the pool to carry out maintenance on the system?
No, all components of the AngelEye system, including underwater cameras, can be easily accessed and replaced without the need of emptying or closing the pool.

Is it necessary to clear the pool of swimmers in order to carry out maintenance?

No, the simplicity of access to the AngelEye components does not affect the operation of the pool, therefore, it is sufficient to limit only the passage of swimmers near the working area.

Must the customer look after the system to preserve the efficiency and keep it operating properly?

No, the integrated AngelEye self-diagnosis system autonomously detects malfunctions or faults and simultaneously alerts the AngelEye assistance service.

Can a pool be prepared for a future installation of underwater cameras?
Yes, the pre-installation service provided by AngelEye includes the preparation of niches in the pool that can then accommodate the cameras.

Can the fee-based AngelEye service be provided for the seasonal opening period of the facility only?
Yes, the AngelEye fee-based service can be activated only for the months the facility is open.

Is there a standard that regulates drowning detection systems?
The standard that regulates drowning detection systems in non-domestic swimming pools larger than 150 m2 is defined by ISO (International Organization of Standardization) 20380:2017.
The standard describes the minimum operational performance and safety requirements as well as simulation methods for drowning detection systems. The aim is to ensure that in the end the customer invests in a high-performance system to ensure the safety of swimmers.
The risk detection functionalities can be customized according to the specific needs of the facility, allowing analysed and studied configurations for every need and type of structure, whether it is a water park, a sports facility or others.
AngelEye is able to guarantee the standard defined by ISO 20380:2017.

Will AngelEye systems replace lifeguards?
No, the AngelEye systems do not replace the work of the lifeguards but they do assist them and provide an additional level of safety. In compliance with regional laws, drowning detection systems can be an alternative to an increase in the number of staff employed during busy periods.

Do AngelEye systems impact the work of lifeguards?
AngelEye systems integrate seamlessly with swimmers’ monitoring operations and their safety. Lifeguards only receive alarm notifications discreetly via smartwatch and other notification devices that are not distracting.
